Doug Marshak , DVM
Minnesota 1998

Doug Marshak photoDr. Marshak joined GAVC in 1999 under the mentorship of longtime prior owner Dr. Gerald Abelsen. Dr. Marshak has been the primary owner since 2002. He works exclusively on companion animals, and his primary interest is in internal medicine. Dr. Marshak resides in Duluth with his wife, Jeana, his two sons Peyton and Zach, a Weimeraner named Isabelle and a Siberian Husky named Maximus. His hobbies include computer programming (and gadgets of all shapes and sizes) and officiating soccer.

Lisa Nordquist , DVM
Wisconsin 2002

Lisa Nordquist photoDr. Nordquist started working for GAVC in 2008 after five years in southern Wisconsin. She provides medical and soft tissue surgery services for small animals. She is trained in acupuncture therapy and stem cell therapy for amll animals as well. Her hobbies include gardening, knitting, and jewelry making. She resides in Hermantown with her husband, John, two Australian Shepherds, Fred and Grace, and Sammy the cat.

Robyn Ball , DVM
Minnesota 2005

Robyn Ball photoDr. Ball started working for GAVC in 2008 after spending two years in Minneapolis. She provides services for companion animals. Her primary interest is in internal medicine. Dr. Ball serves as the primary veterinarian at GAVC's sister clinic, Two Harbors Veterinary Clinic, in Two Harbors, but has some limited office hours at our Duluth office. She resides in Two Harbors with her husband, Mark, two children Kaija and Eli, and a bevy of dogs, cats, goats, horses, and chickens!

Elaine Nelson , DVM

Dr. Nelson started working at GAVC in May 2010 after working for a year in Cloquet and three years in the Twin Cities. She enjoys doing soft tissue surgeries as well as tackling difficult internal medicine cases. Dr. Nelson is working primarily at GAVC’s sister clinic, the Two Harbors Veterinary Clinic, however, she has limited hours in Duluth.

She lives in Duluth and enjoys doing many athletic activities with her husband including: running, canoeing, biking, camping, and Nordic skiing. She loves dog training and enjoys competing in Agility with her Weimaraner, Xena. Her menagerie includes: Nika the Yellow Lab, Xena the Weimaraner, Midas the Bengal cat, and Angel the cockatiel.

Jackie Pribyl , DVM
Oregon State 2015

Jackie Pribyl photoDr. Pribyl joined the staff at Grand Avenue & Two Harbors in July 2015 after graduating from Oregon State University. She is interested in surgery and dentistry. She enjoys many outdoor activities including mountain biking, water skiing, downhill skiing, Nordic skiing, and skijoring. She lives in Duluth with her boyfriend Tim, and their two Labrador Retrievers, Tucker and Winnie.
